PUKA BEACH - The Serene Paradise of Boracay!

Image
We got to enjoy the beauty of this beach for free thanks to Alta Vista de Boracay.  They offer a free ride to Puka Beach to their guests.  It is a 7-minute drive from Alta Vista de Boracay to Puka Beach.  Alta Vista has a private beach front there, lined with cabanas, which are free to use by their guests.  They also have attendants there to guide and assist you.  Fresh towels are also provided.  Hmmm.. Thank you, Alta Vista! Puka Beach is a 20-minute ride from the White Beach.  They said it is named after the Puka shells, which you can find scattered along its white sands. When we were there (February 5, 2018), we were not able to swim because of the big waves.  There is also a warning sign icon that shows the danger of a strong current.  The waves here are also white and foamy. Sand is grainier in the shoreline because of small bits of shells mixed in with it, but a little farther it can be powdery. There are also vendors who are selling accessories and home decor

Montebello Villa Hotel - Your Home Away From Home

Image
Montebello Villa Hotel is located amidst the active metropolis of Cebu, just behind Gaisano Country Mall , a 4-minute walk away.  The hotel maintains its low-rise buildings, surrounded by greenery. We just came from our  Bantayan Island escapade  when we checked in at this hotel.  It was an almost 6-hour trip from the island itself.  We rode a ferry from Santa Fe Port to Hagnaya Port , and from there, we were able to find a van bound to Cebu North Bus Terminal and finally rode a taxi to the hotel. We were greeted with their refreshing welcome drink, a delightful concoction of what seems to be ginger and lemon grass.  Staff greets us all the time.  They were accommodating and helpful. My husband booked the Superior Room , which is a blend of traditional Filipino and Hispanic style .  It has a private balcony and bathtub.  We paid an additional fee of P1,200 for extra head.  Personally, I really don't like our hotel room because it is kind of outdated , even the hallw

Olay Regenerist Revitalising Cream Cleanser - Advanced Anti-ageing

Image
I discovered this product when I asked a friend what product she is using on her face.  Her face was clear and pinkish white and it was bare with no makeup.  She told me she is using Olay Regenerist Revitalising Cream Cleanser , which was recommended by her dermatologist.  So, after my shift, I went to Watson's - Megamall to buy this product and I never regret it.  This was in 2009 or 2010.  Up until now, I am still using this. I don't remember it's price back then.  Now, I believe this is around 300 pesos. This cleanser is formulated with oxygenated derma-beads that cleanses and gently smoothes skin without over-drying it.  I want my facial wash/cleanser with beads on it, so it was easy for me to love this product. My skin is not acne prone and quite clear to begin with, but what I have noticed is that after years of using this product, a lot of people is interested to know what I use or put on my skin. This product doesn't really lather because of it

D.I.Y! INSTANT BRAZILIAN BLOW OUT for 7 PESOS???!!! - DAILY 1 MINUTE TREATMENT

Image
I stumbled upon this product when I was buying Simply G Keratin Shampoo at JS Grocery Store.  At first, I was skeptical to buy it because I am not familiar with the brand.  I was afraid that it might ruin my hair or maybe it is not effective, but then I thought it's only 7 pesos, so why not go and give it a try . So, let's go ahead and talk about this keratin treatment. Name and brand: UNI Keratin Hair Reborn Treatment , 20 g Pricing and availability: For the price, it is very affordable as it is only 7 pesos or less. I lost my receipt, so I kind of forgotten the exact amount. What I remember is that it is less than 7 pesos. I just discovered this product recently at a small grocery store near us.  I am not sure if this is available in other stores. Ingredients: What I love about this product is that it is not jam-packed  with ingredients.  As they say, the lesser the ingredients, the better .  It is only composed of 9 ingredients according to the back la

Anika Island Resort - Bantayan Island

Image
Bantayan Island is our second stop during this Malapascua-Bantayan- Cebu escapade to celebrate the month of love (Feb 2017). We stayed at Anika Island Resort , which from what we could tell is one of the best hotels in the small island. Great scenery , but by night time, the wind was howling and the sand is blown everywhere and can accidentally get to our eyes. We paid P2,252.71 (breakfast included, not buffet) via Expedia , but was asked to pay extra for the third pax. We got to enjoy the center of the island as well, but we had to cut short our stay the following day because of the incoming bad weather with the last ferry leaving the island at 9:30am. We were supposed to check out at 12 noon.  So, after breakfast, we packed our things.  It was kinda sad. The resort staff are courteous and very helpful.  The driver of the van even bought the ferry tickets for us.  They even contacted us the day before our stay to coordinate the time of pickup by their van (f

Mary Grace Cafe - One of the Best

Image
Mango Bene - P198/slice (all-time favorite) We have been to Trinoma, SM North, SM Sta. Mesa and SM Aura branches, and it is still the same feel-at-home vibe .  Ambiance is very relaxing , homey and cozy . Servers are always friendly and accommodating. Mary Grace offers a wide selection of pastries and cakes, but they are best known for their ensaymadas. I have tried their ensaymada and cheese rolls , both classic and grilled, but I must say I am not a fan of it.  They are tasty, but not the best. We are going gaga over Mary Grace hot chocolate.   It is very rich , creamy , decadent and heart warming .  This is definitely a must try.  This is the kind of drink that brings back pleasant memories and lifts your spirit.   You will find yourself smiling while sipping this hot chocolate (though the serving is insanely minuscule).  We also tried their peppermint hot chocolate , but it is not quite as good. Mary Grace Hot Chocolate Black Velvet Cake The cafe also serves
